2. Data we collect and why

Account information

We collect your name and email address when you register, in order to identify your account and send important notifications.

Location data

RunTogether accesses your precise location during an active run – including in the background and while your screen is locked. Location data is used to record distance, pace and route, and to power the Live Beacon feature that lets your running partners see you in real time. Location is only collected during an active run and is never tracked continuously in the background.

Health and fitness data

With your permission, RunTogether reads heart rate, resting heart rate and body data from Apple Health to calculate heart rate zones, VO2max and training load. Completed runs are written back to Apple Health as workouts including route and heart rate data.

Contacts

RunTogether can access your contacts to make it easier to find friends and invite them to run together.

Usage data and device information

We collect an anonymous device identifier and your user ID to manage your account. Crash reports are collected automatically to fix bugs and improve app stability.

Push notifications

With your consent, we send you notifications about run invitations, activity from your running partners and other in-app events.

3. Sharing with third parties

Your data is never sold or shared with third parties for advertising purposes. We use the following services:

4. Data storage and deletion

Your data is stored on Google Firebase servers in the EU or the United States. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time directly in the app under Settings → Delete Account. For your security, you will be asked to re-authenticate before deletion. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.

6. Children

RunTogether is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

7. Changes to this privacy policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page.

This website

runtogether.cloud sets no cookies, loads no third-party fonts or scripts and uses no analytics or tracking. When you visit, the web server processes technically necessary connection data (e.g. IP address, time, requested page) to deliver the site and protect it against abuse.
